This is a nice framed piece of artwork depicting the Honerable Hezekiah Prince along with Isabella Coombs. Both sketches are hand drawn without a signiture. The portraits measure 3 X 3 1/2 inches each. The sketch of Isabella is in excellent condition while Hezakiah seems to be rubbed on the bottom. The images are clean and clear and easily identifiable. The back of the frame has an informational piece glued on. The information presented reads "Hon. Hezekian Prince, Senator, son of Kimball and Deborah Fuller Prince, was born Ded. 7, 1771, in Kingston, Mass. Married Isabella Coombs, Jan. 4, 1798. Died Dec. 27, 1840. Their oldest child, Eliza Prince, born Oct. 14, 1798, married William Pope and removed to Spencer, Mass."
Isabella Coombs, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Gamble Coombs, was born April 9, 1781. Married Hon. Hezekiah Prince, Jan. 4, 1798. Died Dec. 2, 1840." The note also reads "(see Cyrus Eaton's History of Thomaston, 1865, Vol. 2, pp.184 and 364).
I believe this a very historical piece of early
American portrait artwork.
