<B>Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I Letter Signed.</B></I> One page with docketing and paper seal on verso, 8" x 11", Rome, in Italian. Ferdinand I (1503-1564) was an Austrian monarch from the House of Habsburg. He was first the Archduke of Austria from 1521 to 1564. After the death of Louis II, Ferdinand ruled as King of Bohemia and Hungary from 1526 until 1564. After his brother Charles V abdicated as Holy Roman Emperor in 1556, Ferdinand reigned as emperor until his death.
