Hitchcock's Frenzy Production Script With Cast Signatures
Hitchcock's Frenzy Production Script With Cast Signatures - A rare and wonderful collectable for Alfred Hitchcock fans. "Frenzy" (1972) was Alfred Hitchcock's penultimate film. His fifty-second feature film as a director. However for many it was his greatest triumph, and considered by many to be truly his last film. He made one more film, "Family Plot" in 1976, but this was considered more of an amuse-bouche than a true Hitchcock thriller. But "Frenzy" was his ultimate thriller. After a string of masterpieces in the second half of his career including "Rear Window", "Vertigo", "North By Northwest", "Psycho", and "The Birds", Hitchcock hit a snag. He couldn't seem to find his footing in the modern age of filmmaking, and his next two films "Torn Curtain" and "Topaz" were not critical or financial successes. It was at this point that he brilliantly decided to go back to his roots. He returned to his love of "the sweet smell of silent murder", and the theme of "the wrong man" by choosing "Frenzy", based on a novel inspired by a real London Serial Rapist and Murderer. And he went back to his home of London to film the entire production (not having filmed a movie in England since the 1950's), utilizing accomplished English actors, known more for their talent than their star power. He even hired some of the actors he had used over 50 years before when he was starting out as a director in England as a good luck charm. And it worked. What came out was one of his most critically acclaimed and financially successful film in years. It also was one of his most graphically violent, and with his first nude scenes as well, also gave him his most severe rating to date. This is an actual production script from the production of "Frenzy" complete with the signatures of all the main actors from this classic film on the title page. Having any autographs from these actors, let alone, all together in the script that made them immortal, is rare indeed. This is most likely a one-of-a-kind treasure. They signatures include Jon Finch (Richard Blaney), Anna Massey (Babs Milligan), Joan Marsh (Monica Barling), Clive Swift (Johnny Porter), and Bernard Cribbins (Felix Forsythe). The script comes from the personal collection of one of the major Hitchcock memorabilia collectors in England who personally obtained the script, and then went through the painstaking process of getting every signature of the main cast on the script by approaching the actors himself, either backstage, at studios, or in their homes. The script comes with a Letter of Provenience from this passionate collector.
