Hitchcock's Frenzy Poster/Lobby Cards/Photos
Hitchcock's Frenzy Poster/Lobby Cards/Photos - After several false starts in the late 1960's, many feared that Hitchcock's days as the supreme master of suspense was over. However as was he stock and trade, he shocked and delighted the world with one of his greatest masterpiece thrillers in "Frenzy" (1971), a film with the same traumatizing stomach-punches as his ultimate thriller, "Psycho". It became a critical and financial success for the 72 year old director, and although he made one more film five years later, this is considered his magnificent sunset to a legendary career. This is a set of original "Frenzy" memorabilia culled from the collection of one of England's most passionate collectors of movie memorabilia, especially of Hitchcock. It contains the original 1971 full size poster of "Frenzy" which brings back the tradition of the graphic art of "Vertigo" and "Psycho" (and because of its visual impact, was once voted the "worse poster to hang in your child's bedroom"); nine rare color original Lobby Cards; two original black and white original Lobby Cards; two Universal Studios Publicity Photos (including one with Hitchcock directing), and a rare "Films In Review" booklet (August-September 1972), which came out at the time of the "Frenzy" release, with Hitchcock on the cover, and a glowing review inside. (Poster is approx 42"x28", and is folded with slight crease splits), Lobby Cards and Photos are 8"x10". Booklet has some ink markings on the cover. The full set comes with a Letter of Provenience from the original collector.
