Historical Colt Single Action Army Revolver Documented to the Copper Queen Mining Company in the Arizona Territory with Factory Letter

According to the included factory letter, this revolver was part of a 4 piece shipment to the Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company in Bisbee, Arizona on August 25, 1908, in 41 Colt caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, blue finish and "Not Listed" grips. Built up around a claim staked in 1877, the Copper Queen built its success and the boom town of Bisbee on an abnormally rich copper ore found in the area, supplemented with incidental gold and silver strikes. During its operation, a number of Colt arms were purchased for the security forces and to sell in the company store. Blade front and notch rear sights with "41 COLT." on the left side of the barrel, two line Hartford address on top, two line patent dates on the frame next to the circled Rampant Colt, and matching numbers on the frame and grip straps. Fitted with a pair of smooth later production ivory grips with nickel finished Rampant Colt medallions.

Fine with 50% of the original blue finish. Showing some bright edge wear, a brown patina on the barrel and grip straps, gray on the cylinder, and scattered spotting and handling marks overall. A smooth, well aged gray and brown color is showing on the frame with 40% bright and vivid case color remaining on the balance. Grips are fine replacements, slightly undersized with some minor age cracks and attractive grain and color. Mechanically excellent.
