Historic original hand written warrant issued by the town clerk of Ipswich, Massachusetts to Ezekiel Dodge, the Constable of Ipswich, dated April 14, 1775 in overall very good condition and mounted in a dual glass sidedframe approx. 7-1/2” x 9”. The subject direction is as follows: “Greetings: In his Majestys Name you are hereby Required to Notify and Warn the Freeholders & Otehrs, Inhabitants of the said Town of Ipswich thatthey Assemble and meet at The Town House in said Town on Monday the seventeeth day of this Instant April at four of the Clock Afternoon, Then & there to know whether the Town will Give Orders to their Treasurer toBorrow or hier, any certain sum of money, in order to pay the Minute Men their Wages that are become due, hereof fail not & make return of this warrant at or before st’d day.”.
