Historic World War II USAAF Veteran Grouping of China-Burma-India Theater Items Including a Type B-5A Flight Jacket with Squadron Patch

This is a grouping of items that belonged to USAAF veteran crew chief Karl Cerny who served in the China-Burma-India theater. The lot includes flight gear, survival gear and personal mementos that Cerny picked up during his combat experience. USAAF Type B-5A flight jacket size 42 and manufactured by Aero Leather Co. with a multi-piece leather China-Burma-India left sleeve patch, red leather "KARL CERNY/U.S.A. Air Force" leather tag on the left breast and a multi-piece leather squadron patch (likely the 4th Troop Carrier Squadron) on the lower left front. The zipper is marked "CONMAR." Plush fur collar and wool lining. Long sleeve dress shirt with CBI patch on right sleeve and Far East Air Force patch on the left sleeve. AN6540-2W leather flight helmet (no receivers). Karl Cerny's dog tag. Other USAAF/CBI related items in this lot include the following: duffle bag marked "SGT. KARL CERNY", yellow cloth flight helmet (appears commercial), 4 survival fishing kits, U.S. emergency drinking water, U.S. field ration C, USAAF Type 8-3A flight gloves, 13 manuals/guides/handbooks mostly pertaining to CBI theater and USAAF including "Don?t Get Killed by Mines and Booby Traps", "Flying Tigers' Guide to Shanghai", "Army Air Forces Survival No. 21W", "Spoken Chinese," and 1942 dated "Handbook on China.", VFW service cap, American Legion, 3 silk aviation maps, package of 2 inch compress bandages, iodine applicators, grouping of U.S. patches mostly Army and USAAF, grouping of photographs, souvenirs including postcards, small paper books, city maps and leather book cover, metal insignia including wings, 3 circular plastic containers holding various first aid gear, Al Koran fez, silk USAAF flight gloves and M5 protective ointment kit.

Type B-5A jacket is fine showing wear on cuffs (couple repairs), waist band and collar and left sleeve has a hole due to missing stitching. Zipper functions. The shirt is fine showing wear under the arms. Leather flight helmet is good.
