Brown finished steel construction, with "70254" stamped inside the brim, leather chinstrap and a treated canvas webbing cover. The left side of the helmet is marked with a white "6" inside a blue circle, and the right has a white greyhound inside a blue rectangle, with "Pvt.R.Davis/Ha Courier" above and "6th Corps" below. The VI Corps, also known as the VI Army Corps, was activated at Neufchateau, France in 1918 and saw service during the Lorraine Campaign. The VI would be reactivated for the Second World War, seeing combat in Italy, Southern France, and Germany. From the Putnam Green Collection.

Very good. Rust is present on the underside of the helmet, with some flaking of the attractive brown paint and decoration on the exterior and mild wear on the lining.
