Painted wood, C.1900, Norfolk County, from the wreckage of the infamous "Whisky Ship", The City of Dresden. This vessel, carrying hundreds of cases of bootlegged whiskey, wrecked and was washed ashore at Long Point during the prohibition era (1922). It is autographed by those involved in this historic incident including "R. ("Dickie") Edmonds", the Government Liquor Inspector. He, along with police and officials, failed to find any of the thousands of gallons of whisky! Loaned to Port Dover Harbour Museum from 2005-2006, this artefact has become the symbol of this Canadian historic calamity. Condition: Untouched original Condition: Partial corner, bottom right.
