Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action Army
Colt Single Action Army revolver manufactured in 1925. The revolver butt is inscribed "C.D. WOLF" in script letters. A copy of a document titled "PARMA POLICE HISTORY" that accompanies the revolver describes how Deputy Marshal Clinton Wolf was shot and killed on June 28, 1926 while responding to a call for assistance at domestic disturbance in Parma, Ohio. The articles states that Wolf had been appointed Deputy Marshal six weeks prior to his death and was working for a fellow officer on his day off when the shooting took place. The article further states that Deputy Marshal Clinton Wolf's name is inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. The revolver has a full nickel-plated finish and is fitted with Colt factory two-piece pearl grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions. The hammer spur has borderless knurling. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in one line. The caliber designation "45 COLT" is roll-stamped on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt three date, two line patent markings followed by the Rampant Colt. The assembler's number "3" and the Colt Triangle/VP proofmark are stamped on the left front trigger guard bow. "&" is stamped on the right rear trigger guard bow. The assembly number, "1893" is stamped on the loading gate and on the right rear of the frame ahead of the grip. The full serial number, "347219" is stamped on the bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard and on the right side of the trigger guard and back strap underneath the grip. The partial serial number "19" is stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. All of the visible serial numbers match. "78304" is written in pencil on the inside of the right grip. The revolver is accompanied by a lightweight black calf-skin holster. The holster has an open toe and half-flap with retaining strap. The holster is contemporary to the revolver.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus of the original nickel-plated finish. Wear is limited to some minor flaking on the front face of the cylinder and on the face and right side of the hammer. All of the markings and serial numbers are crisp. The frame, trigger guard and grip screws are excellent. The grips are excellent with no discoloration, cracks or chips. The action is crisp and functions perfectly. The holster is very good with heavy scuffing; about 60% of the finish remains intact. This is an excellent example of a pre-war Colt Single Action Army revolver attributed to a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.
