Historic Colt SAA revolver with provenance to Colonel Gilbert Procter, soldier, rancher, author, historian and civic leader, .38-40 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, fancily period Mexican engraved and etched, blue and gold washfinish, ivory grips, #215538 and accompanied by a tooled single loop leather holster and cartridge money belt with backskirt of holster decorated with nickeled brass “buttons”. Documentation includes newsarticles, testimonials and a copy of a factory letter indicates gun was originally equipped with a 5-1/2” barrel, blue finish, type of stocks “not listed”, shipped to Copper Queen Consoldiated Mining Co., BisbeeTerritory of Arizona on Sept. 30, 1901, five of the same type guns in shipment.
