TLS as first lady, signed “Hillary,” one page, 6.25 x 9.5, White House letterhead, October 29, 1993. Letter to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, in part: "On behalf of the President, I want to express my deep gratitude for your co-sponsorship of the Health Security Act. Your action reflects an unswerving commitment to ensuring health security for all Americans. We are grateful for your contribution to this historic effort and for your invaluable advice. We look forward to working with you in the weeks and months ahead to make health care reform a reality. Your leadership will be critical to passage in this Congress." At the bottom, Clinton writes, "Thanks so much." In fine condition. Health care reform became First Lady Hillary Clinton's driving cause during the Clinton administration, and she chaired the task force that devised a comprehensive plan for universal care. Democratic infighting caused the package to stall in Congress, and the plan ultimately never came to fruition. Clinton revisited health care reform in her presidential campaigns, and it remains a hot-button issue to this day.
