Blade measures 30 1/4" long, with deep single hi on each side, running down into the silver finished habaki, and a wavy hamon. Iron tsuba, 2" thick and 3" wide, cut through and engraved with cherry blossom designs, a pair of copper seppa, and gold accented fuchi and kashira with raised designs of ocean waves. Black silk wrapped rayskin on the tsuka, with floral pattern menuki. The nakago has a pair of drilled-through nakago-ana, and is marked on the right side with an 11 symbol signature. With a hardwood saya, with sparkling green lacquer finish and gold accented iron kojiri. Most tachi-style swords were shortened and remounted to be closer to the katana-style, often obscuring or destroying the original signature of the smith. That is not the case here as this example is signed and of proper length!
