This finely woven Moud-Mashad with its all-over stylized fish design on a beige background, embodies the tangible form of a simple and complex at the same time, intricately, yet marvelously executed art form underfoot. This lovely piece is masterfully hand woven, knot by knot, using superior quality baby lambs wool and it has about 180 knots per square inch. it takes over two years to weave and create this beauty. The lustrous and glowing silk highlights give this lovely piece an added three dimensional character. Moud is a satellite town in the proximity of Mashad, the capital of Khorasan province within Iran. However the word Moud epitomizes the finest and most fabulous Rugs of the Khorasan province Rug producing centers.
