***Auction Highlight*** 1861-o Rainbow Toned WB-6 R3 Seated 50c Graded GEM+ Unc By USCG. Stunning Example and A pie of History. The 1861-o Seated Half Dollar is one of my favorite Coins. It is one of those coins that you can pinpoint when it was made and by whom. When 1861 Dawned, The United States Controlled the New Orleans Mint, but in the early Dawn of January 6th 1861, the mint was sized by the Louisiana Militia. They ran the Mint straight through the end of February when they handed the mint over to the confederacy. The confederacy ran the mint for several weeks until they ran out of blank planchets. The coin at hand is WB-6 and was produced by the State of Louisiana. It is an amazing example with sunning color, a bold strike and virtually mark free even under magnification, A truly superb example, Tied for 5th Finest 1861-o Half overall and in its Variety, The WB-06, It is The Finest Known Example to have survived. Good Luck. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
