High quality silver mounted mid-eastern flintlock pistol with niello silver decoration, small coral inlay on wrist and good quality throughout. The pistol measures 20” overall with 12 ½” barrel of approximately .65 caliber smoothbore. The mounts are very good quality with raised relief florals and silver beadwork nicely chased and executed with trim in black niello. The stock also shows some intricate silver wire inlay around the tang and a fancy silver plaque inlaid at the rear of wrist with tang sheathed in silver. The lock is nicely engraved and good quality as is the barrel. The condition is good to very good with slight repair to the wood at the area above the rear of the lock plate otherwise very good overall and uncleaned and untouched. A good early mid-eastern pistol made in the 18th to early 19th century probably in Turkey or Caucasian area. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
