High quality flintlock belt pistol by Patrick of Liverpool, approximately .60 caliber, 5-1/4” barrel, 11” overall, iron mounted, full stock to muzzle. This late period flintlock pistol shows water-proof pan and high quality features this maker was noted for. The pistol is full stocked to muzzle with engraved iron mounts, horn tipped forend cap, silver escutcheon. The pistol remains in good to very good condition showing a grey patina finish with some scattered slight to moderate erosion and pin-prick pitting. Engraving is well to fine on lock and mounts, metal condition is generally good overall. The stock is in very good condition with sharp checkering and just normal aging. The pistol is equipped with a period belt hook and is of the type and size favored by Mariners and ship’s Captains. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration with correct hammer, small parts, and original to-the-period ramrod. The pistol is nicely cased in a shadowbox with label dating it at 1810 – 1820. Est.: $900 - $1,800.
