High quality double barrel 410 gauge English shotgun with exposed hammers, and 28" barrels showing Nitro proofs for 3" shells. Marked Russel Hillsdon, Chichester, and "Royal Counties" on center of rib. The gun measures 44" overall, with 14 1/4" length of pull and checkered wood butt. Standard extractors, blue and case hardened finish, with light scroll engraving. Very good plus condition with 90-95% blue on barrels, 60-80% casehardening, drifted to patina on trigger guard. Wood shows simple checkering and is at least very good with normal wear, slight storage scratches. Gun locks tight and bores are bright. Good original luggage case with correct label in lid. A very nice little double which is collectable and originally made about 1899 (note later Nitro proofs). Est. $2,500-5,000.
