High quality bolt-action sporting rifle by H. Doumolin of Liege, Belgium in .505 Gibbs caliber on elongated Mauser type claw action, marked JBL Arms Co. showing 3-leaf folding African type rear sight, hooded front sightwith changeable aperture. 24” heavy round barrel, select fancy grained walnut stock with swelled bump in pistol grip on right side. Grip cap with compartment for accessories and finely worked and engineturned action. The condition is fine to excellent, 98-99%. Note indicates ‘made for David Miller’. The action is tight, bore is excellent. Doumolin is highly regarded and is in the top few European makers. The riflemeasures 45-1/2” overall with 25” barrel. 14” from the trigger to the end of the wood, 14-3/4” to the end of the pad. The rifle weighs 10lbs. From the Robert Petersen collection.
