High quality Italian flintlock blunderbuss circa 18th century with elliptical barrel and folding stock, chiseled steel mounts, silver and brass inlaid barrel. The gun measures 33-1/2” overall with 20” barrel which flaresto over 1-1/2” across the elliptical muzzle. The barrel is nicely inlaid with brass florals, as well as the silver and brass stand of arms at the breech. The mounts are deeply, almost chisel engraved. The lock islightly engraved. The gun is stocked in good quality root burl, and it is hinged so as to be easily concealed. The buttplate is beautifully chiseled with a grotesque face of a cartoonish woman. The condition is good to very good overall with some scattered light to moderate pitting on the barrel. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
