High quality English flintlock pistol by Rich Hollis & Sons, London, American converted to percussion, with barrel period engraved in script, Hyde & Goodrich. Hyde & Goodrich were well-known New Orleans importers who handled fine arms for the Southern gentry in New Orleans, LA. The pistol measures 15-1/2” overall with 10” barrel of approx. .54 caliber smoothbore. The pistol is half stocked in walnut with checkered grip. Engraved iron mounts with silver barrel key, escutcheons, forend cap, and plaque at wrist. The pistol shows a lightly engraved American hammer and a good quality conversion to percussion. The barrel has been fitted with a large period v-notch rear sight and a German silver blade and post front sight. The condition is good with a deep brown patina, some scattered pitting and erosion around the firing areas and stock is good with some minor dings, mars, scratches etc. The pistol retains an original to the period rod. The markings are good, and the barrel marking is absolutely authentic. Arms marked Hyde & Goodrich are desirable and collectible. From the William R. Orbelo Collection. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
