High-grade best-quality sidelock double-barrel sporting rifle by Marshall Thys & Sons in .22 Hornet caliber, fully and finely high-art engraved in scroll and high-art motifs, serial #0185. The riflemeasures 24-3/8”, 40-1/2” overall, the gun shows double triggers with front trigger articulated or hinged, automatic ejectors, raised African type rib for v-notch rear sight, stocked in select burl walnut withwrap-around forend, squared bottom, European type pistol grip, monte carlo cheekpiece, checkered wood butt, reinforced big game type tang that extends onto the comb. The rifle weighs slightly under 7lbs. The engraving isof highest grade European quality with fine-line backgrounds, raised figure of buffalo on left sideplate, Rhino. Bottom of frame shows bull elephant on rampage, triggerguard shows majestic lion inportraits. Panels and vignettes are surrounded by high relief chiseled scrolls.
