High-grade American Eagle head officer’s sword with bone grip, blued and gilt blade retaining its original and scarce brass scabbard. The blade shows about 50% original blue and gilt and is in good condition with normal aging and a few battle type chips on the edge. The scabbard shows traces of gilt and is very good with only a few dents but missing the interior throat. The hilt is good quality and shows a figure of a Medusa head at the center of the guard. We would date this attractive Eagle head is pre-1835. Est.: $900-$1,800.
