Our Assessment: This is a High Standard GB model .22 LR pistol manufactured in 1951. Purchasing the Hartford Arms & equipment company when it failed during the Great Depression, High Standard entered the rimfire target pistol market in 1932. The company would go on to manufacture some of the highest quality rimfire target pistols into the 1980s, and their guns are still prized by target shooters today. This pistol is in Fine condition with a nice bore and strong mechanics. It retains 95% of its original finish and comes with one 10-round magazine and an original factory box. Please see our photos and good luck!

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.Many military and C&R-eligible weapons have bores that will show erosion. This is not only due to age but to the fact that corrosive primers were commonly used in ammunition worldwide. For example, the U.S. used corrosive ammunition throughout WWII. The U.S. military did not begin to phase out corrosive-primed ammunition until the 1950s.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is light thinning on the leading edges and finish loss from holster wear on the sides of the barrel near the crown. There are some dispersed little nicks and scratches throughout, along with a couple of faint little spots of surface oxidation. The action shows minor operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 10-round magazine and an original factory box.
