High Grade Custom Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 bolt action rifle, cal. 300 H&H Magnum, serial #139732. The rifle is in overall very good to near fine condition as re-stocked. The rifle has a 26” barrel and retains nearly all of a quality rust blue finish, with some small loss of finish at the muzzle. The rifle sports a standard front and folding rear sight, in addition to a Pentax Lightseeker 2x8 variable power scope with clear optics. The action is crisp, having been polished and honed while the markings remain clear and sharp. The rifle was custom stocked by G. Hoenig of Idaho for Robert Petersen. The gun is stocked in finely checkered select walnut with a Monte Carlo cheek piece, two cross bolts and satin finished. The stock measures 14” to the end of the Pachmayr old English red pad. Although this rifle is not signed, it is of high quality and consistent with other rifles built for Mr. Petersen in quality and design. Est.: $3,000-$6,000 (Modern/PPT)
