High Condition Grouping of Eight Consecutively Numbered Persian Contract CZ Model 98/29 Bolt Action Rifles with Test Targets -A) CZ Model 98/29 Persian Contract Rifle

A) Built on order for the government of Persia by CZ of Czechoslovakia, the Model 98/29 was designed around the Mauser 98 action, and has a reputation as an accurate and reliable military weapon. Included with this grouping is an excerpt from the "Dope Bag" segment of the April 1994 edition of American Rifleman magazine, discussing the history of a grouping of unissued, virtually new 98/29's discovered by importer Samco; included with the test weapon they supplied to American Rifleman was the original test target supplied to the Persians by CZ, one of which is included with every rifle in this lot. Each of the eight rifles, with the exception of an English translation of the serial number importer stamped under the Persian original, is in virtually identical condition to how it would have been delivered to the Shah's army. Protected blade front and Persian-numbered tangent rear sights, with the Persian Lion crest on top of the receiver ring and matching numbers (in Persian) on the polished bolt and smooth stock.
