Antique High Condition 1st-Year-of-Production Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, #3790, .38-55 cal., 26'' octagonal barrel, blue finish, walnut stock and forend, with brass bead Lyman front sight and standard sererated buckhorn rear sight. All early features are present. Mfg'd 1894. Condition is excellent. Barrel and magazine tube retain approx. 97% lightly thinning and toning blue, with just fine bright high edges. Forend cap shows about 90% blue with only slight losses. Frame with approx. 95% original early factory blue showing light thinning and toning at balance point. High edges are bright with thinning to top dome portion of screws. Hammer shows approx. 85% vivid hues; lever with about 50% as the bottom edge has gone bright. Buttplate with just faint colors showing through. Stock with light marks from handling, with one small repair to right side upper corner at tang. Screw slots appear crisp and unturned. Perfect action, mirror bright bore. A beautiful early example of the iconic western rifle. Est.: $14,000-$18,000. (Antique)
