I am so excited! What a fantastic find.

A rare and unusual item to find just floating around....a collectible Higgins Glass piece in the form of wearable art.

Higgins glass was the love and life of Frances & Michael Higgins. Frances studied under Michael while obtaining her Masters at Chicago Institute of Design. They had a mutual fascination with glass fusing techniques which eventually led to a personal as well as professional relationship. After marrying, they set up a studio to explore the then-unknown field of modern glass fusing. They were early pioneers of kiln worked glass. Their pieces are signed Higgins which indicates that both of them had input on the piece due to their very collaborative artistic relationship.

Although Frances and Michael are no longer living, their art and vision lives on at the Higgins Glass Studio in Riverside Illinois.

This ring is a beautiful study in blues. Features an indigo blue border with light blue flecks. THe next section towards the center is a luight blue background in which sits a green and brass blue explosion or burst shape.

The ring is worn by two brass arms. Glass piece measures 7/8" x 1".

The piece is signed with the Higgins etched signature.
