Original engraving on paper by German master engraver Hieronymus Sperling. Entitled Audentes Fortuna Juvat (Fortune Favors the Bold), it is inspired by Virgil's epic poem the Aeneid, book X. A Classical nude representation of Fortuna leads the ship towards glory and Sperling included lunettes with heroic figures. On the lower part: Hieronymus Sperling delineavit et Sculptsit. Housed a warm brown wood frame and a white mat. Frame size: 12.25"L x 10.75"H x 1"W. Sight size: 7.75"L x 6.50"H.
