Hessler X130D $1000 Five-Twenties of 1862 Bond Fine. A fantastically rare bond which lacks even a description in the Hessler loan reference. It has been issued and redeemed. There is a cancellation through Register of the Treasury Lucius E. Chittenden's signature. The left and right edges have been reinforced with tape and a couple of other places on this note also once held tape. A moisture stain is noticed in the lower right corner on this bond that was printed by the American Bank Note Company. While the grade is less than perfect, this item may well be unique in private hands, as no one alive today has ever previously seen a bond from this issue. Expect some stiff competition before the hammer falls on this wonderful Civil War item today.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
