Hessler 1396 $1000 1861 Interest Bearing Treasury Note
Hessler 1396 $1000 1861 Interest Bearing Treasury Note Face Proof About New, PC. This would make a nice companion piece for the proof above. This is also an ABNCo green and black face design plate letter C proof printed on India paper. It has a portrait of Salmon P. Chase. The coupons have not been punch cancelled, but there are four small punch cancels along the signature lines. Natural paper wave is noticed and the handling observed is a fold between the last coupon and the note, a small corner fold, and a small edge clip at upper right. Only a few proofs in three formats are documented in Hessler for this design. This particular proof is believed to have been once part of a three note sheet that was auctioned in 1974 by Mayflower. This proof is also associated with the unknown Fr. 210. In fact, a plate letter A proof is utilized as the plate note for that number. Tonight's example would be your best bet if you are looking to collect a Fr. 210.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
