(Hermann Goering) German soldier and politician; Nazi "Reichsmarshall"; convicted of war crimes by Nuremberg Tribunal; committed suicide in jail. Goering's personal decanter set, with ornate traveling box. Decanter is crystal, stands 12" in height with its stopper, with the Goering coat of arms etched on front. Includes the original 6 metal goblets, 5" high, sterling silver, hallmarked Borgila, with gold wash inside. The box is made of wood, with spacing accomodations and shelves specifically made for this set, with the Goering coat of arms on top. This handsome set was brought back to the United States after World War II by a high ranking American officer, one who had access to the most important centers of military authority and intelligence. The set is in excellent condition, with only a very slight peeling of the vaneer on the top of the box and a chip at the base of the stopper. $10,000-15,000
