This reads, "by Rodman Wanamaker 1913 Here Custer Fell." This is an original etching by Rodman Wanamaker of the Mountain Chief in 1913. Rodman Wanamaker (February 13, 1863 – March 9, 1928) began an expedition to capturethe life of the "Vanishing Race" which resulted in the publishing of his "Expedition of Citizenship." This book is a very rare piece and took place in 1913. For it, the American flag was carried to many tribes, andtheir members were invited to sign a declaration of allegiance to the United States. This is a true etching in great condition and measures 6.75"x9.75"
