Herbert Hoover Signed Dinner Program Herbert Hoover Signed Dinner Program
Herbert Hoover Signed Dinner Program from the Third National Reorganization Conference. Four pages on heavy formal card stock, folded over, 6" x 8", Washington, DC, February 4, 1957. This item features the program and menu for this dinner given in Hoover's honor. The blank back cover is filled with strange pencil writings and math division problems in the hand of and signed at the bottom by "Herbert Hoover". One math problem, dividing 120 into 1600, has a box drawn around it and an arrow with the caption "This is my speech". Another division problem, dividing 120 into 1000, has an arrow and the caption "This the Senators Speech. The Senator he is speaking of is none other than John F. Kennedy who, along with Hoover, was a speaker during the program. It's possible that he was counting the words of the speech and estimating the time needed, or maybe you have a theory about what it means. Certainly a unique item with interesting Kennedy association, making it appeal to a wide range of collectors. About Fine condition.
