Henryk Vinograd heavy silver paper weight featuring a royal emblem with double head eagle, apparently, the Russian imperial emblem. The central raised cartouche represents St. George killing the dragon. On the eagle's wings are 8 coats of arms. Marked on the side HW999. This is a heavy repousse pure silver art object with surface hand chasing. Henryk Vinograd is considered the best American silversmith and recently passed away. This is a very rare silver object created by Winograd in Poland, probably before his immigration to USA in the early 70's. We could not find another similar object in our search. It is considewred that Vinograd silverwork will now increase tremendously. Dimensions: 2.8" X 2.2" (7 cm. X 5.5 cm.). Estimated value: $1500.
