Prominent and sometimes controversial American clergyman, orator, and abolitionist (1813–1887) who was the brother of Uncle Tom’s Cabin author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Original vintage 4.25 x 6.5 Sarony cabinet photo of Beecher in a suit and overcoat, signed on the reverse in ink, “Henry Ward Beecher.” In very good to fine condition, with some light silvering, creasing to lower portion of image, and some scattered light soiling to reverse.
