Henry Miller hand-written and signed letter
Informative and unusual Typed Letter Signed, one half page, Big-Sur (California) February 26, 1955. Miller writes:

"Unless I receive help soon from those I call my friends I shall be in a very bad way. Despite the fact that there are several thousand dollars in royalties due me from various sources, mostly abroad, I can do nothing to hasten the payment of them.

The only solution I can think of, since I have found it impossible to borrow anything like the sum I so urgently need, is to ask if you would be willing to send me a dollar a week, or a dollar a month, whichever you can spare, until the crisis is past.

I make this suggestion because it demands the minimum of time and effort to slip a dollar bill into an envelope and post it. Naturally, I stand ready to return whatever is sent me just as soon as circumstances permit. And I mean this absolutely.

If you know any one you think would be glad to follow suit, please pass this letter on. Every little bit will help and will be most gratefully accepted."

Signed in full. Letter in very fine condition. Original mailing folds, together with original "hand addressed" name imprinted envelope.

This remarkable letter was purchased directly from the person it was written to, and therefore, is never been on the market and the content sheds light on to some very hard times for Henry Miller
