Signed on a free end page in ink by Maryland governor John Eager Howard, a veteran of the Revolutionary War and an original member of The Society of the Cincinnati, "John E. Howard, Belvidere." Book condition: VG/None, with light mottled foxing to textblock and the bookplate of Joel Davis Madden, Jr., affixed to front pastedown.
