Prominent British stage actor (1838–1905) who was the first of his profession to be knighted. Original vintage British cabinet photo of a brooding Irving in costume by W. & D. Downey of London, 4.25 x 6.5, signed and inscribed in ink “To Westworth Croke from Henry Irving, 1892.” In very good condition, with scattered soiling, spot of surface loss to left edge of mount, a few scattered spots and surface marks, and slightly irregular ink adhesion. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
