Bond of the State of Nevada for $1000 issued at Carson City on March 1, 1867, 14.75 x 17.25, with one coupon intact below. The certificate boasts an attractive vignette of a classic boomtown, and is signed in ink by Governor Henry G. Blasdel, "H. G. Blasdel." The bond carried a lofty rate of 15%, "payable in United States Gold and Silver Coin." The large silver seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition, with light creasing, and puncture holes to upper portion. Blasdel (1825-1900) served as the first governor of Nevada, during the end of the Civil War and the first years of the Reconstruction era.
