A group of general merchants, F.H. Clark & Company was active from 1841 to 1870 and sold arms from Deringer and copyists alike. Bead front and notch rear sights, with "DERINGER/ PHILADELA'' and "MANd FOR / F.H. Clark &Co. / MEMPHIS, TENN." on the top of the barrel, "P" on the upper left flat ahead of the engraved breech and a set of gold and silver bands ahead of the breech. Also stamped "DERINGER/ PHILADELA" on the engraved lock plate. German silver and iron furniture, with engraving, ramrod, and a patch box on the bag shaped butt.

Good, with a strong Damascus-style pattern on the barrel, mixed gray on the lower rib, a few lighter spots and some mild pitting. Casehardened parts have faded. Markings are double stamped. Silver is good, with an overall bright patina. Grip is good as cleaned and repaired, with a mended crack through the wrist and pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
