Revered Norwegian playwright and poet (1828–1906) whose works, including A Doll’s House and Hedda Gabler, made him one of the seminal figures of modern drama. Choice original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet bust portrait of the spectacled and heavily whiskered playwright, signed in the lower right in black ink, “Henrik Ibsen.” In very fine condition, with a couple of news clippings affixed to the reverse. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. All autograph material of Ibsen is avidly sought, and signed images are particularly scarce.
