Provenance: Private estate of a recently deceased wealthy Harvard Medical School professor (2001); he and his wife bought it from Christie's of NYC several years ago before his death; wife was in a nursing home at time of auction. Their daughter and son-in-law could not locate the COA on this, but the parents had several impressionist paintings by Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, Monet and Henry Moore and other top original works for which they did have COA's. Current owner was the chair and founder of the Harvard Club of Washignton, DC from 2000 to 2004. Paid $19,000.00 for it at the estate auction.
