On sale is a very rare "Hematite Cylinder Seal" circa 2,200B.C. to 2,000B.C. This incredible seal is from our private collection and its original provenance is from northern Syria. Featured is black hematite stone carved cylinder with a bored hole. The rolled out seal reveals a ceremonial spear-like staff topped with the crescent moon. There is a stellar, "Sun or Star" symbol with two projecting arm-like rays directly above an altar or the doors of a temple. There are two exquisitely carved figures paying homage to the deity. This stamp seal is in superb condition and wearable.
