1887, Montana. Black. Stock certificate issued to and signed on verso by Thomas Charles Power (1839 - 1923) One of the most successful business men in Montana. Republican. Candidate for Governor of Montana, 1889; U.S. Senator from Montana, 1890-95; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Montana, 1916. Signed on the front as president by Samuel T. Hauser (1833 - 1914), pioneer, miner, capitalist and territorial governor of Montana. One of Montana's most prolific business figures. Some glue bleed through from verso from attached stock transfer form. Star punch cancellations affect Hauser's signature, Power's is unaffected. Fine.
