German-British writer and translator (1846–1934), best known for translating Nietzsche. Two letters: one ALS signed H. Z.,” one page both sides, 5.25 x 8.25, no date; and one ALS signed “Helen Zimmern,” two pages on two adjoining onionskin sheets, 5.25 x 8.25, September 22, [no year]. Both addressed to “Amelie.” First letter, in part: “Thank you very very much for the darling boys photograph which is very precious to me since it is all we have. He looks so grave in it…I asked Carl by Alice to plant something for me on Otto’s grave.” The second, in part: “If Mr. [Victor] Hehn would still like to have his book translated perhaps I could now find a publisher.” A few slight edge chips and tears, otherwise fine condition.
