ALS, in pencil, signed “Helen A. Keller,” one page, 5 x 8, no date. Written during her childhood, Keller sends an invitation to her friend Maud. In full: “I shall be very happy to have you come to my party Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 o’clock.” The day has been crossed out with a cursive correction (in an unknown hand) of “Tuesday” and the date “Monday, Jan. 28th” written at the bottom of the page. In very good condition, with a tear along the horizontal fold affecting the word Saturday, mild to moderate toning and soiling (heavier at the edges) and a lightly singed bottom edge.
