"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
Stunning and extremely rare limited edition copy of Helen Keller's autobiography, signed boldly by both Keller and her teacher, Annie Mansfield Sullivan. ''The Story of My Life'' by Helen Keller, published by Doubleday, Page & Company: NY: 1903. The limitation page reads: ''This large paper edition is limited to 60 copies, made for subscribers. This copy is number 54''. Signed by Keller and Sullivan, each under their own frontis portrait. The book includes photographs, illustrations and facsimiles of braille manuscripts and letters handwritten by Keller. It is filled with intelligent and tender observations, such as: ''The most important day I remember in all my life is the one on which my teacher, Annie Mansfield Sullivan, came to me. I am filled with wonder when I consider the immeasurable contrast between the two lives which it connects.'' The relationship between Keller and Sullivan, as recorded in this memoir, was adapted into William Gibson's award-winning play ''The Miracle Worker'' and later into a famous movie. Brown boards with green cloth backstrip and gilt letters, uncut page edges, tight binding and remarkably clean pages. 441pp. book, measuring 6.75'' x 10.25'', has wear to boards and dampstaining, especially on first few and final few pages, else near fine.
