Wonderful hand painted plate from the A. Heidrich Studio depicting a wildlife scene of three deer in a creekside clearing. Adolph Heidrich was a well-known artist who worked for a number of Chicago china painting studios, and is discussed in Reed's book, the Encyclopedia of Pickard China. He operated his own studio from about 1915 to 1922. Plate measures 9 5/8" in diameter. Condition is very good-to-excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Very little wear to the gold trim around the outer edge. Signed by the artist on the front, A. Heidrich. Stamped with Heidrich Mark #2, in use from 1918 to 1922. Also stamped with a Limoges manufacturer's mark identified as Bernardaud & Co. Mark #1, found in use from about 1900 to 1914. Member, Pickard Collector's Club.
