ALS in French, signed “H. Berlioz,” one page, 5.25 x 8, August 25, 1852. Letter to Richard Otto Spazier, nephew and biographer of the German writer Jean-Paul Richter. In part (translated): "Mr. Bertin [director of the Newspaper des Débats, where Berlioz published his musical chronicles] did not give me your manuscript, but there is no doubt that he will give it to you if you go to his office between 2 and 3 pm. I have not seen him for a long time. I am sick and do not dare to go out yet. I deeply regret not having managed to get your book admitted." In very good to fine condition, with creasing, a tear to the top of the hinge, and seal-related paper loss to the integral address leaf.
